Test and Survey Categorization

This article will guide you through creating custom categories to enhance the organization of questions, tests, and surveys, making it easier to manage and streamline the assessment process.

What Are Custom Categories? #

Custom categories are additional fields that act as attributes for questions, tests, and surveys. Unlike default fields, these categories are user-defined and not pre-created in the application. They help to:

  • Classify content more effectively,
  • Provide additional metadata,
  • Enable easier search and filtering,
  • Streamline content management across assessments.

Accessing the Categories Tab #

To manage custom categories, follow these steps:

  1. From the main menu, navigate to System and go to Settings and Customization.

    Organizing tests and surveys #

In the first step of the Test Creation Wizard, you can choose the test category type and its values from the drop-down list.

This action can also be done from the Tests/Manage tests/Settings/Basic information tab.
