How to add existing or ad hoc tests to a training course step

Training courses are a series of lessons organized into steps. Each step may include a test, survey, and/or various types of attachments (training course materials). This article will explain how to add an existing test or create an ad-hoc test for a training course step.

Creating a training course #

For instructions on creating a training course, please check this video.

Adding existing test #

  1. Navigate to the training courses.
  2. Go to the Steps tab.
  3. Click the Add test button in the Actions column and select the Add existing test to the training course option.
  4. When the pop-up window appears, select the desired test and click the Assign button.

Note: To allow candidates to take a test within the training course, you need to publish the test and schedule a testing session.

Scheduling a testing session for the training course #

After adding the test in one of the steps of the training course, open the test, and then:

  1. Select the Testing center/Testing sessions tab.
  2. Click the New testing session button.
  3. Select the Allow self-enrollment option to make the session available to all candidates assigned to a specific training course.
  4. Select this option to restrict test access only to users assigned to the training course.
  5. Select a training course from the drop-down list.
  6. Select the Save button.

Creating and adding an ad hoc test #

    1. Choose the Create ad-hoc test in training course option.
    2. Enter a test name.
    3. Insert the Passing mark The minimum score a candidate must achieve to pass the test.
    4. Specify the Duration – How much time candidates have to take the test.
    5. Set the Availability period – Define the time frame when the test will be available for taking.
    6. Choose the number of points rewarded for answering a question correctly and the number of penalties for answering a question incorrectly.
    7. Add question pools to be included in test generation. Once you select a question pool, a new pop-up will appear, allowing you to specify the number of questions of each difficulty level from that pool to be included in the test. Note: You can add more question pools.
    8. Click the Save button to add the test to the training course step.

Note: A testing session will be automatically created when you create an ad hoc test. To allow candidates to start this test in a training course, assign them to the training under the Candidates tab or enable self-enrollment under the Information tab.
