This article will explain how to create multiple self-enrollment sessions with different availability periods and allow candidates to choose when they take a test within a training course. The test can be started from the selected training course, and all candidates added as candidates to the training course will automatically have open access to that test and availability to choose when they take a test.
Creating a testing session #
A testing session is a specific period designated for candidates to take a test or examination for a training course. It is a scheduled time slot where candidates can demonstrate their knowledge, skills, or competencies in a particular subject or field.
What is essential to memorize is that you can create a testing session within the test.
There can be more testing sessions that are linked to one test.
To create a testing session, follow these steps:
- Click on Testing sessions
- Click on Manage testing sessions
- Click on Create
You can create single or multiple test sessions or import one or the other.
To create a testing session, you need to link it to your test:
When you link the session to the test, fill in the following information:
- Enter the Testing session name
- Choose the Location (optional)
- Choose the desired Time zone
- Define start and end time, when the candidates must begin a test within that time limit.
- Assign a group to this specific Testing Session.
- From the dropdown menu, select the training course, and then the test can be started only from the selected training course.
- Once you select the training course, the Candidate self-enrollment option will automatically turn on, allowing all candidates added as candidates to the training course to have open access to that test automatically.
- Click the Save button to save a session.
You can create multiple Testing Sessions for one particular test with a different availability period.
If Testing Session is self-enrollment and assigned to training, candidates can choose from which Testing Session they want to start the test.
Students perspective #
If a test that you need to book has multiple testing sessions, you can choose the testing session you desire by:
- Click on Assignments
- Click on My tests
- Choose the desired test and click on Choose the session
- Book the session you prefer
When you start your training course, you will have the test linked to the training course when you finish.
