About BIAA
Since 1980, Brain Injury Association of America has aimed to improve the quality of brain injury care by equipping providers with training and continuous education. BIAA is a leading national organization whose primary mission is to raise awareness about mental health and provide research, treatments, and education with one ethical goal: to improve the quality of life for all people affected by brain injury. BIAA is a mission-centered, metrics-driven organization that monitors emerging trends.
The Challenge
BIAA was looking for an automated and secure system solution for its annual certification. After 365 days, they needed old certificates to get suspended, so new test attempts needed to be taken. BIAA wanted the following:
- Several test versions manually created, customized, and assigned to different candidates to avoid generic tests with randomly-picked questions.
- A solution for multiple test graders, something prevalent in the real world that hadn’t been developed as a software feature back then.
The Solution
In collaboration with the YouTestMe GetCertified application, BIAA creates different versions of the same test for each candidate depending on the candidates’ specific needs.
All these test versions are stored in the system as one test, so all statistics and reports can be accessed on the test level. Additionally, AI proctoring is included to avoid any tentative cheating.
Thanks to YouTestMe’s flexibility and policy to provide customers with custom solutions, we developed a new feature called Collaborative Grading or Multiple Graders that allows BIAA to have more than one instructor who grades tests. The Multiple Graders module enables assigning multiple graders to mark the candidate’s attempt or set up the system to assign graders and automatically distribute work. It is possible to define the maximum number of points graders can provide and allow them written feedback. This module eliminates bias from grading and improves the reliability of the grades.
The certificate format was customized according to the Association’s branding and criteria. The candidate goes through several training steps, followed by specific tests at the end of each, and achieves the certification by completing the process. YouTestMe also developed an automated and secure system for annual certification, and certificates over 365 days will become expired. Recertification sessions would be created automatically. It is worth noting that our certification module was customized and upgraded to meet the Association’s needs. During the examination process, students are assisted by BIAA technical support.
