How to Track Candidate Test Progress

This article explains how to track the candidate’s progress during the test-taking process.

YouTestMe offers a “Progress” feature that enables you to monitor a candidate’s progress during a test. This feature summarizes the number of questions the candidate has answered in relation to the total number of questions.

Candidate progress can be monitored either from the Manage Tests module or the Candidates module within the Testing Center.

Tracking Candidates’ Progress from the Manage Tests module

To monitor candidates’ progress for a given test in YouTestMe GetCertified, follow the steps below:

  1. In the main menu, navigate to Tests and click Manage tests.
  2. Choose the relevant test from the list, and navigate to the Candidates tab at the top of the page.
  3. Click the Progress button (top-right) to display detailed progress information for all test-takers across all sessions.
  4. If the test includes multiple testing sessions, you can filter the data by selecting a specific session using the (+) button.
  5. Use the Username search field to locate a specific candidate’s attempt.
  6. In the Submitted questions column, view the number of questions that the candidate submitted.
    • Note: Questions are only marked as submitted once the candidate completes and submits the test. If the test is still in progress, this value will remain 0.
  7. The Graded questions / Total questions column indicates the number of questions that the system has automatically graded.
    • Note: Manually graded questions are not included in this count.
  8. To see individual answers, question text, and grading information, click the Personal Report icon in the Actions column next to the candidate’s attempt ID.

Setting the Progress View as the Default

You can configure the Progress view to be the default when accessing the Candidates tab across the system. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to System, then select Settings and Customization.
  2. In the System Preferences tab, scroll down to the Preferred Default Views section.
  3. Under Candidates’ Attempts View Configuration, select Progress from the Candidates’ attempts view dropdown menu.
  4. Click the Confirm button to save your changes.

Tracking Candidates’ Progress from the Testing Center

To track the candidates’ progress from the Testing Center, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Testing Center, then select Candidates.
  2. In the Test Attempts tab, use the Test and Testing session filters to select the desired test.
  3. The View options will become available. Click on Progress view to preview the test-taker’s progress.
