This article explains how to show immediate feedback to candidates.
The feedback will be displayed as soon as the student selects an answer, rather than after clicking the Next button.
Enabling immediate feedback
Hover over the Tests tab in the main menu and select New test.
In the second step of creating the Settings test, you need to select the following options:
- Enable answer feedback to candidates – Allow instructors to write feedback and and make it visible to students.
Single-choice type of question
If the above options are enabled, the following features are available for single-choice questions:
- Second try – If enabled, a student will be given a second chance to answer this question if they choose this answer, and they will be penalized according to the scoring method. This is intended to be used on a single incorrect answer. If the answer feedback is not defined, the candidate will get the default message Please try again. This option only works when the Disable deselect option is enabled. For more about this option, please refer to this article.
- Add feedback for this answer -Instructors can add specific feedback for each answer choice.
Multiple-choice type of question
When the settings above are enabled, you can configure multiple-choice questions using:
- Add feedback for this answer – Instructors can add feedback for each offered answer.The feedback will appear immediately below the selected answer when the student selects it.
Immediate feedback in the Test-taking process
During the test-taking process:

If answer feedback is defined, the candidate will see it directly below the selected answer as soon as it is chosen.
- In single-choice questions, if no custom feedback is defined, the default message “Please try again” will be displayed.
